Ana Celia de Armas CasoĀ (born 30 April 1988) is a Cuban-Spanish actress. She began her career in Cuba at age 16 with a leading role in the romantic crime dramaĀ Virgin RoseĀ (2006). At 18 she obtained her Spanish passport through her maternal grandparents, which allowed her to legally relocate to Spain to pursue acting. She moved toĀ Madrid and starred in the popular dramaĀ El InternadoĀ (2007ā2010). In 2014, she moved toĀ Los Angeles and secured English-speaking roles in the psychological thrillerĀ Knock KnockĀ (2015) and the comedy-crime filmĀ War DogsĀ (2016).
De Armas rose to prominence for her roles as theĀ holographicĀ AIĀ Joi in the science fiction filmĀ Blade Runner 2049Ā (2017) and nurse Marta Cabrera in the mystery filmĀ Knives OutĀ (2019), receiving a Ā Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress ā Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. She then playedĀ Bond girlĀ Paloma in theĀ James Bond filmĀ No Time to DieĀ (2021) and actressĀ Marilyn MonroeĀ in the biographical dramaĀ BlondeĀ (2022), for which she became the first Cuban nominated for theĀ Academy Award for Best Actress. She then led the action thrillerĀ BallerinaĀ (2025), aĀ spin-off instalment in theĀ John WickĀ franchise.
